FAQ

Is minimally invasive spinal surgery right for me?

We will need to consult with you, review your medical history, and diagnose your exact condition in order to determine if you’re a candidate for spinal surgery. Dr. Q may be able to provide a more conservative form of treatment, using nonsurgical solutions to help you recover and help you avoid surgery.

What types of surgery do you perform?

At Q Spine Institute, we have extensive experience performing both traditional and minimally invasive spine surgeries. Dr. Q does 90% of his procedures in the least invasive way available. You can learn about the most common procedures we perform here.

Why should I consider more conservative treatments for my spinal pain first?

All surgeries, no matter how minimally invasive they may be, come with risk. Using more conservative, non-surgical treatments allows us to see if physical therapy, hot or cold therapy, rest, pain medications or injections can provide adequate relief for your condition.

What are the advantages of a minimally invasive spinal surgery procedure?

Minimally-invasive spinal surgeries generally require far less time in surgery. Advanced procedures and minimally-invasive surgical equipment mean there are smaller incisions, little to no blood loss, and a quicker recovery time. This also means less chance of infection or other complications.

I’ve had a previous spinal surgery that resulted in more complications and pain – can your spine surgeons still help?

In many cases, Dr. Q and the Q Spine Institute team can help those who have experienced failed back or neck surgery. When pain or less mobility is experienced after surgery, there’s a good chance we will be able to provide you with additional relief. If not, we will help you to determine your best treatment options.

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to make an appointment to speak with Dr. Quartararo.

What types of insurance does Q Spine Institute accept?

Q Spine Institute accepts patients from all insurance providers, but may not be contracted providers for your insurance. We have chosen not to be part of an insured provider network so we are able to give you the highest level of service and attention you deserve.

What are my payment options?

Q Spine Institute works with your insurance company to ensure that out-of-pocket costs are similar to what it would be if we accepted your insurance. Q Spine Institute accepts all major credit cards for payment.

Where will I go for the surgery?

All Q Spine surgeries are performed at the International Center for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, located at 461 Goffle Road Wyckoff, NJ. For more information on our surgical center, please visit www.icfmiss.com.
